  • • STCG (≤2 years): As per tax slab

Cryptocurrency:

  • • Flat 30% tax (no LTCG benefit)
  • • No deductions allowed except cost

Tax Saving Tips

  • Hold equity for >1 year to get 10% LTCG vs 15% STCG
  • Use ₹1 lakh LTCG exemption on equity every year
  • For real estate, use indexation to reduce taxable gains
  • Reinvest LTCG in property (54/54F) or bonds (54EC) to save tax
  • Offset gains with losses (tax loss harvesting)
  • Time your sales to optimize tax liability
