What a deposit or a savings policy pays out when its term ends, interest or bonuses included.
For a deposit it is the principal plus the interest earned to maturity. For a savings insurance policy it is the sum assured on maturity plus any guaranteed additions or bonuses, as the policy defines them.
Comparing a maturity value with the premiums paid says little on its own; the IRR says what that payout is worth as a yearly return.
Figures on this page are filled from the same tax and scheme tables the calculators use, for the current financial year. Every term in the glossary.
