The pension scheme that receives part of your employer's provident fund contribution.
Your employer contributes 12% of your basic pay and DA, like you. Of the employer's share, 8.33% goes to the Employees' Pension Scheme rather than your EPF account, computed on wages capped at ₹15,000 a month for most members. The rest of the employer's share goes to EPF.
EPS money earns no interest in your account; it buys a pension. A projection that counts the whole employer contribution as EPF overstates the corpus.
Figures on this page are filled from the same tax and scheme tables the calculators use, for the current financial year. Every term in the glossary.
